Campaign Manager, Global Green and Healthy Hospital (GGHH) initiative in Africa
I work as an Environmental Health Campaigner for groundWork, tasked with:
- Developing the GGHH membership outreach and engagement in Africa.
- Assisting hospitals to reduce their environmental footprint.
- Training of environmental health practitioners on sustainable management of healthcare waste.
- Conducting baseline assessment and constructing case studies that show progress and achievement of member hospitals.
Generally, I am passionate about training environmental health practitioners, building their capacity to be aware of factors in the environment that affect health such that prevention of ill health and injury plays a key role in their thinking and, invariably, in the work that they do. In future, I see myself as a lecturer because I enjoy sharing knowledge on environmental health – creating a cadre of environmental health practitioners that will advocate for environmental issues that affect public health. Currently I have a Masters in Public Health, enrolling for a PhD next year.
